This is a set of paintings I made for my mother in law. She is a nature lover and requested a close up of trees with a soft background in my art style. The pictures of these trees were actually taken when I went on a trip to Berlin, Germany. I was really excited to try painting something like this as I never had before; it was the first time I had tried any sort of fluid painting for a background. It was a really fun piece to do and I was really happy with the final turnout, as was she!

I made this piece for my brother in law and I absolutely loved working on it every step of the way. It was a request for some sort of fantasy landscape scene, and the only requirement was that it had pandas in it. After making a quick few sketches up, this layout is what we decided on and then I got working. The research aspect was interesting and informative. To make this somewhat realistic, it needed to be accurate in terms of perspective and sizes. I looked into things like the sizes of different kinds of bamboo and figure out how tall they should be in the work. I found even more interesting but minuscule creatures that I didn’t know existed, like the bio-luminescent plankton, which I added into the shallow waters. I loved working on every part of this work, but my absolute favourite part was adding the stars and movement into the water.
